Development is an essential part of what helps make our school great, and I’m pleased to report that 2018 – 2019 was another successful year!

One of this year’s highlights was the launch of our Expanding Possibilities capital campaign, which will rebuild our first and second grade classrooms, the last of our original 1950s buildings, and reconfigure our courtyard.  With this expansion, we will have a new two-story building with four larger classrooms, five breakout rooms for group learning, extra office space and a 1000 square foot multi-purpose room. As I think about the many ways this new project will have a positive impact on Carey students, it’s exciting to envision a dedicated place for extended care, flexible spaces for breakout groups, and a courtyard that also functions as a classroom.

Our Development Committee began the year sharing the overall vision for this project with many Carey families and ended the year raising $3.2M, a significant portion of our $5M fundraising goal. We are so thankful for the dedication of our team and all the supporters who are helping make this vision a reality.

In addition, the Carey community ended the year with another success: our Annual Fund raised $643,000 to support what tuition does not cover, such as professional development for our educators, special programs, and other operational needs.

Thank you to the many volunteers and donors throughout the Carey community that have helped us achieve our development goals. We look forward to another great year!
